Welcome to 2016 everyone!
Now, I know that the holidays can be filled with decadent desserts, an abundance of turkey and overeating (at multiple family functions & holiday parties). I know this from personal experience, from eating my way through multiple office potluck lunches, family Christmas turkey dinners and even New Years get-togethers with friends. And I think we can all agree that we could all use some healthy choices right about now. So I'd like to share a light and healthy yet still satisfying breakfast/brunch recipe that I made for my family over the holidays to help balance out the heavy holiday meals (we endured for several days/weeks on end). It's my winter squash fritters topped with Gay Lea's smooth cottage cheese and tart raspberry syrup garnish. #YUM
It’s that time of year again... You know, when your skin begins to dry out with the change of seasons and is in need of a little extra TLC. So I found my way over to Beauty Bar Laser Clinic to try out their "HydraFacial" (HydraFacial MD®).
The HydraFacial is known as "the working woman's facial", as it is a not a lengthy treatment (only 30 minutes) that can be performed over ones' lunch hour with little to no visible redness for returning to work.
Living in Ontario my whole life, I was never really attracted to nautical decor before. But because my boyfriend and his family are Maritimers originally from Halifax, and via some inspiration from my sister-in-law’s blog “The Blondielocks", I decided to do a little throwback to their roots. And it ended up being A LOT of fun!
I think this is the perfect time of year to introduce a new category on the blog... "Weekly Wants".
Each week we will feature several shoppable products that we are either, already enjoying, or itching to get our hands on! Stay tuned... And enjoy shopping some of our favourite things!
In my house we try to eat healthy and mostly organic, with the occasional treat and indulgence. But I have always found it challenging to consume all the fruit and veggies recommended for daily intake. I'm more of a serial snacker and prefer my meals to be small. So I decided I would give juicing a try a few months ago, and I have not looked back.
You've wrapped up your post-secondary experience, in which you may have been living in residence on campus, student housing with room-mates just off campus or maybe even living with Mom & Dad while going to school. Not to mention you’ve got a hefty student loan debt hanging over you now. So what's next!?
I've decided to share with you… My go-to transitional look. Light colourful scarf, wind breaking & water resistant trench coat, ballet flats and ripped jeans - to expose a little bit of skin but not too much so not to get cold - and of course my favourite Dior Beauty products in beautiful, cheerful pink, coral and peach tones to give that fresh, healthy spring glow.
